This weekend Andy and I went to the Yokota Asian Bazaar and came home with this already framed (hooray!) bunch of awesomeness! This guy here is our first art purchase together. The piece is an original woodblock print by Kunisada from about 1845. It is an image of an actual sumo wrestler named "Sotogaahama Namigoro." I love the chevron patterned and the fact that you can see individual hairs. We both thought it was to awesome to pass up!
Speaking of sumo Andy got tickets to sumo this weekend for being part of operation tomadochi so we're venturing into Tokyo this weekend for some sumo viewing! Yeah!!!
